Roy Dunn MacLean
Roy Dunn MacLean is a Singer/Songwriter born in Somerville Massachusetts now residing in Southeastern, Ct. His musical genre is hard to categorize because he does not care much for labels. However his biggest influences are Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Tom Waits and The Marshall Tucker Band. So if you mix all that up add a little Hank, Lefty and a touch of Bob Wills you would be close to his Genre.
Roy started playing out professionally (meaning he got paid) at 15 years old. Now more than fifty years later he is still going strong and still excited to entertain folks. Roy has played drums, bass guitar and Acoustic guitar in several groups. Currently he is playing Acoustic Guitar and promoting his CD’s by performing solo, duo or with his full band The Dunns of Tewksbury.
Roy’s first CD is called Hometown Jamboree and his newest CD is called The Dunn’s of Tewksbury. Produced by Jim Carpenter & Roy Dunn MacLean on the Loco Dare Label.
Roy does not believe that music is a competition and when people ask what type of music he plays he will always response “good music”. When asked if he is any good he always response “my Mother likes me”. So if wondering why he plays or what his musical ambitions are his answer is. “To get my music out there so people can hear it so they have an opportunity to like it or not like it.”
